We went to Monroe for thanksgiving again this year and had so much fun! Lena spent lots of time in the dirt outside and Walter got plenty of quality time with everyone. We had fun staying up playing dominion after the kids were in bed and even went on a date. I also had a chance to shoot a Russian rifle and Jessie's purple hand gun. I love having redneck in-laws ( totally kidding ;) ). I hope to add more pictures to this post...but for now here are the ones on my phone. Becky always read to the kids each night and there was this really cute moment with her reading with all of her grandkids. :-)

9 Months
Walter has been such a delight this last month. He is now a pro at making messes and a definite explorer/scientist. I just love watching him study out new toys and get so intense, concentrating on what he is doing. He has also become proficient at using his pincers and loves, loves, loves to eat "big people" food. If there is something on his high chair tray that he is having a hard time grabbing he simply dives in for it to get it straight into his mouth... it is hilarious! Another thing he does that is funny is after he's done nursing he always reaches his little pointer finger up to my lips to make them make the "bbbbb" sound and then he gets the biggest smile... it is simply adorable! Here are some pictures we took on my phone this last month:
He is seriously so smart! I played the xylophone for him a couple of times and then he started doing it by himself!
And then Lena came in for some Walter loves.
I just love that they love each other!

My Amazing Three-Year-Old
I've been meaning to start this post FOREVER but time just seems to slip away... and not to mention the fact that I'm super overwhelmed with trying to play catch up on this silly blog. But, now, before anything else happens I'm going to blog about Lena and how grown up she has gotten since turning three. Now that I write this it all seems very familiar... am I writing this post twice? Or maybe it's just because I've written it in my head so many times. Okay, now about Lena. One thing I wanted to write about is how she can now go to sleep by herself in her own bed. We did this by bribing her with a tea set... it has like 45 pieces and every time she slept through the night in her own bed she got to pick 5 things. She was so cute and excited about it that she insisted on sleeping with the box that the tea set was in... I think she would stay awake for an hour just looking at it and deciding what she was going to pick the next day. It was so cute! I'll have to admit that the first couple of nights were really hard for me... I missed that little cutie hauling two blankets and three stuffed animals into my bed in the middle of the night... I missed watching her throw them up and grabbing onto the blankets to pull herself up after them and climbing over me to get in the middle... however, now that she's been sleeping in her own been for a couple of months I DO remember why we trained her to do it... only because there has been a night her and there where she has still come in and now that I'm used to sleeping without her in my bed, I now notice more the kicks in the head... the whine for a drink or the frustrated scream saying "YOU'RE ON MY PILLOW" in the middle of the night. Anyway, the moral of the story is that I'm so impressed her ability to learn and adjust... to be so grown up as to be able to say goodnight and play quietly (most of the time) on her own until she's ready to lay down and drift into sleep.
Here are some pictures of my cutie pie from the last couple of months... I'm sure there will probably be some repeats, so bear with me:

Look at that crazy slide-static hair!
Oh my gosh that thing she found made me squeel in terror... Randy convinced her to pick it up and come show it to me... it's apperantly called a tomato worm or something but it was HUGE and disgusting!... she was so cute about it though. When I started screaming she said something like "mom, it's not scary, it's just a tomato worm... it's cute"
Lena eating one of the cookies that she chose for me as my treat for having to stay home while her and Randy when to the drive-in movie. :) She stayed up to watch BOTH movies! (Monsters University and Despicable Me 2)
Walking her baby in the "gino" in sunny Arizona.
Playing on my Grandma and Grandpa's old swing set... many o' kids have had fun on this thing... sad to think it will probably be the last time. :(
Ha ha ha... the people living across the street from my grandparents' house were so nice and gave these buckets to Lena and Walter. She was so cute with them.
Newspaper hats with Eva. :)
My little chef!
I love her excited refuse-to-hold-still-and-smile-normal poses. :)
