My Amazing Three-Year-Old

I've been meaning to start this post FOREVER but time just seems to slip away... and not to mention the fact that I'm super overwhelmed with trying to play catch up on this silly blog.  But, now, before anything else happens I'm going to blog about Lena and how grown up she has gotten since turning three.  Now that I write this it all seems very familiar... am I writing this post twice?  Or maybe it's just because I've written it in my head so many times.  Okay, now about Lena.  One thing I wanted to write about is how she can now go to sleep by herself in her own bed.  We did this by bribing her with a tea set... it has like 45 pieces and every time she slept through the night in her own bed she got to pick 5 things.  She was so cute and excited about it that she insisted on sleeping with the box that the tea set was in... I think she would stay awake for an hour just looking at it and deciding what she was going to pick the next day.  It was so cute!  I'll have to admit that the first couple of nights were really hard for me... I missed that little cutie hauling two blankets and three stuffed animals into my bed in the middle of the night... I missed watching her throw them up and grabbing onto the blankets to pull herself up after them and climbing over me to get in the middle... however, now that she's been sleeping in her own been for a couple of months I DO remember why we trained her to do it... only because there has been a night her and there where she has still come in and now that I'm used to sleeping without her in my bed, I now notice more the kicks in the head... the whine for a drink or the frustrated scream saying "YOU'RE ON MY PILLOW" in the middle of the night.  Anyway, the moral of the story is that I'm so impressed her ability to learn and adjust... to be so grown up as to be able to say goodnight and play quietly (most of the time) on her own until she's ready to lay down and drift into sleep.

Here are some pictures of my cutie pie from the last couple of months... I'm sure there will probably be some repeats, so bear with me:

Look at that crazy slide-static hair!

Oh my gosh that thing she found made me squeel in terror... Randy convinced her to pick it up and come show it to me... it's apperantly called a tomato worm or something but it was HUGE and disgusting!... she was so cute about it though.  When I started screaming she said something like "mom, it's not scary, it's just a tomato worm... it's cute"

Lena eating one of the cookies that she chose for me as my treat for having to stay home while her and Randy when to the drive-in movie. :)  She stayed up to watch BOTH movies!  (Monsters University and Despicable Me 2)

Walking her baby in the "gino" in sunny Arizona.

Playing on my Grandma and Grandpa's old swing set... many o' kids have had fun on this thing... sad to think it will probably be the last time. :(

Ha ha ha... the people living across the street from my grandparents' house were so nice and gave these buckets to Lena and Walter.  She was so cute with them.

Newspaper hats with Eva. :)

My little chef!

I love her excited refuse-to-hold-still-and-smile-normal poses. :)

Crawling!

My little Walter man officially started crawling on Sunday and he is LOVING being able to get around to things that he finds interesting. :)  It is so fun seeing his excitement with getting around.  He has the same "Quazy Moto" crawl that Lena had... using the one foot, one knee method to get around.  It simply is adorable! :)

aaaaaand.... he's down. :)

Music Table

Walter is SO close to crawling!  Here are some picture of him lunging forward to play on his music table.  And you can't forget the picture of Lena sneaking in to give him a kiss.

Happy Birthday Eva Beva!

Eva is now TWENTY-THREE.  It's really hard to believe that my little sister is in her twenties.  I, for one, am truly grateful that my parents had one more after me.  I really don't know what I, or my family, would do without her.  She truly brings life and joy to everything and ties us all together.  She is such a sweetheart too and is always looking to help others.  She even prepared a seven course me for us for HER birthday.  She is always offering to watch my kids for me while I go do something for me.

Thanks Eva for being in my life!

We decided to put the timer on my camera to work to get all of us in one big picture. :)

I owe all of the rest of these awesome pictures to Sam who was the photographer and is the best at capturing those moments where people don't know a picture is being taken. :)
For some reason, in all of the pictures.. Alex does not seem so excited to be there. :)  But of course, I remember him being his usual fun self. :)

I took these ones for Sam.  He loves his sweet Wally. :)

LOL!  Oh they are so fun together!

Lena and Jimmy didn't do a very good job at letting Eva open any of her presents... it was hard restraining them from opening all of them in ten seconds.  Just training them for Christmas I suppose. :)

Two of the wonderful women in my life... just chattin' away. :)

More of sad looking Alex

Everyday Good Times

Since I'm behind on my blog I'm grouping all of these pictures together in a post.

Randy was bouncing Walter on the ball and Lena wanted to join... so he let her. :)

Lena is always either kissing Walter or "petting" Walter in one of the pictures... she just loves him and really can't go long without showing him that. :)  I just love it!

 SUPER HERO!!!

Lena got this cape from one of her friends' birthday parties and loves putting it on sometimes and running around with it around the house.  She was so cute jumping off the couch with it... sometimes with the "superhero" pose and sometimes with the "I'm a  bird" pose. :)

It seems pretty rare that I get to be in a picture with one of my cuties and I'll tell you the truth... it's usually because I don't look presentable enough for a picture.... OR I'm the one taking the pictures... :)  Anyway, I love this cutie guy and I don't blame Lena because I'm addicted to giving him kisses as well. :)
