Canning

Cooler weather also means the end of gardening days for the season. This is a bitter/sweet time for me. Bitter because it's so sad to think that we won't be able to just run out to the garden for tomatoes, cucumbers, zuccini, onions, potatoes etc... and sweet because we don't have to worry about missing a day and getting mutant zuccini as a result (as Randy would say). ;) AND because we get to bottle all of the stuff we grew and have it all year round. And bottling we did. We bottled about 67 pints of Salsa and tomato sauce. It took all day long and this is what we got:

Was it worth the mess?

YES!!!

Lena did us a favor and kept Grandpa entertained while we (Randy, Becky (Grandma) and me) bottled all of the salsa.
I'm pretty sure Lena giggled at grandpa for about 5 minutes non stop when he stuck this diaper on his head... then continued to put it on and off of his head for a while longer.

She climbed into this little box all by herself. :)

She's been doing this thing lately where she lays on the ground voluntarily (usually we have to tackle her down to get her diaper changed) and rolls around on the floor.

I wanted to post a picture of an example of a mutant zucchini from last year:

This was Lena between 2 and 3 months old.

Holy cow!! that is awesome that you canned so much stuff. You will totally have to show me how to can next year when we hopefully have a garden too :)
